Welcome to Nuremberg. Where Dürer once strolled.

The Hotel Am Jakobsmarkt, located in the southern part of Nuremberg’s Old Town, has a long and rich history. Originally managed by Wilhelm Hofmann, his son Thorsten Hofmann took over in 2001. Under his leadership, the hotel, built in the style of traditional Nuremberg Old Town architecture, was gradually modernized and successfully transformed into a contemporary business and city hotel.

Charming city hotel. Since 1984.

With 36 rooms and three apartments, the privately run Hotel Garni opened in December 1984 in Nuremberg’s city center. Four years later, the Hofmann family expanded it to 72 rooms. In 1996, after the restoration of an adjacent half-timbered house, four additional rooms and an apartment were added.

The 2006 modernization focused on comfort: the number of rooms was reduced by ten, while the new superior rooms impressed with spacious bathrooms and plenty of natural light. In 2011, the renovation was completed with the merging of two building sections.

Between 2020 and 2024, the hotel underwent extensive renovations. The entrance area, hotel bar, and reception were redesigned, and all rooms in one building section were completely renovated to offer maximum comfort and a welcoming atmosphere.
